Kenmark Air/ Ken McDaniel Taking advantage of a elderly woman with dementia Punta Gorda Florida
This company sent out two employees to do the 6 month maintance on my (82) yr old mothers AC unit. Without using any cameras to inspect the duct work, she was told that there were multiple leaks in the duct work and it need ed to be repaired with "Aeroseal". They said there was enough leakage to equal a twenty-four(24) inch hole in the duct work. Her duct work is metal buried in the walls of the condo. The inside AC unit sits directly in the middle of this small condo.
The total length of duct work is less then fifty(50) feet. They charged her $1900.00 for "sealing " the duct work. And told her it would save her $20.00 a month on her electric bill. Oh, did i mention she has Dementia, she will be dead by the time this pays for its self, which it never will, because its a scam. You cant seal duct work like this. I complained to the owner(Ken McDaniel) who said he was not going to do anything about it and in no way was he going to give her the money back.
Two building inspectors here in Punta Gorda, said this is a bogus system, and not worth it. What would you think if you looked at the work order and you read where the service guys asked the client if the were capable of making their own decisions or if they should consult a family member. I dont care how much Dementia or ALZ one has, who wants to admit it to a stranger. Please protect yourelderly friends and family members from this company.

In response to complaint of alegadly taking advantage of the elderly with dementia.After speaking with my employees concerned with this customer none of them seemed to think she had the mental handicap or any handicappes you are mentioning in your allagations. Over a year ago Mrs chambers purchased a new air conditioning system to replace her ten year old sytem from us and you never called and complained that she had any mental handicaps. Not at anytime did anyone in your family ever contact our company to let us know of her inabilities to make her own decisions. Some facts about the duct sealing process ffirst many leaks cannot be seen or even acessesd by human workers the aeroseal takes the guess work out. known facts on national average up to thirth per cent of everydollar spent on air conditioning is wasted by leaky ducts.Not only do you waste money you also pull in exesive dust humidity mold pollen and other poluutants into the home. Cuasing indoor air problems.Aeroseal is a computerize system seals the duct work from inside out kinda like fix a flat for ducts. It was formulated in 1990s at U.C. Berkely with fundind from U.S DEPT. of ENERGY.E.P.A the california institute for energy efficiency,and Elctric Power Research Institute. The department of energy declared AEROSEAL as one of the most benificial energy technologies for american consumer. pre testing of this duct system indicated a comunicalive hole at 24 quare inches thats a 6 inch round duct spraying air into the wall cavity and ceiling space we sealed this system down to a 3 square inch hole. All our duct test are before and after with computerized reports. In closing we feel we have done nothing wrong and only believe we have made your mothers home and air conditioning system more comfortable and efficient
