Lawton Consulting Group ripoff offered refinance my home and pay off my bills if I sent a application fee, no loan and no refund of application fee Robinson Illinois
I saw an ad in the local paper offering refinance loans for any credit. I called the company and they faxed me the loan papers and stated that if I westerunioned them the application fee and papers back I would have my loan in 24hrs. The application fee was 3000.00 dollars and 300.00 to western union them the money. I did this.
I had my daughter go online and check rippoffs and the BBB and could find nothing bad on the company so I completed the transaction.
They called the next day saying they needed 2000 more dollars inorder for closing fees. Nothing on any of the paper work said anything about closing fees, etc so I told them I wanted my money back. They said it would take 30 days to return it.
I now find out that their address is just a parking lot in Robinson Illinois. They do not have a license to do business there and that the money actually went to a place in Canada. If anyone could please help me with this or has had it happen to them. I know it was too good to be true but I was desperate and had to try.
