Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I am an expatriate from the UK living in the USA. I contracted with Mail Boxes etc. at 23 King Street in Cambridge UK to forward my mail to me in the USA. They lost a large number of important documents that they claimed they had forwarded to me. I tried to work with them and use different means to forward the documents. They recommended couriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL. Sometimes my forwarded mail reached me, but often it did not. Then they recommended Royal Mail with tracking. I arranged with Mail Boxes Etc. that they would from that time onwards always send my mail with tracking, and email me the tracking number. Often times they would fail to carry out these simple instructions. Sometimes they did not use tracking, sometimes they emailed me the wrong tracking number, other times they obtained a tracking number but did not email it to me.

Many times I explained to their staff that it was pointless for them to obtain a tracking number and then keep it to themselves. If they did not email the tracking number to me than I would not know that there was an incoming package, and so I would not know to monitor it. If no package arrived I would not know it had gone missing as I would not know that any package had been sent. And of course since I did not have the tracking number there was nothing I could do. Over and over and over again my mail was lost. Over and over and over again the owner and staff of Mail Boxes etc. assured me that they had fixed the problem. But it became clear that they were only interested in the money they could charge me for their hopelessly inadequate service. The staff outright lied to me on many occasions, claiming that they had mailed packages to me when tracking information clearly contradicted their claims. They claimed that had not received my emails when I had return receipts from their email client. They had a lackadaisical attitude to the security of their customers mail.

I explained to them the horrendous damage that I had suffered as the result of my mail getting lost. I have lost irreplaceable legal documents, and important letters, and degree certificates. But they just continued with their same old story, pretending to put measures in place to correct the problem but actually doing nothing at all. As a means to try to get them to keep their word I suggested that they pay me a fine every time they failed to put tracking on a forwarded package and email me the tracking number. In response they shut down my mail receiving service without warning, even though I still had two months left on the service I had paid for, and money in the forwarding costs reserve account. Why would they object to a fine that would only be payable when they broke their promises to me? Mail receiving and forwarding is a mission critical service, and these crooks just cannot be trusted to do it right. Indeed, they seem to take some sordid pleasure in losing their customers mail out of sheer spite. The branch of Mail Boxes etc. that I used was at 23 King Street in Cambridge UK. Now I will have to issue court proceedings against them to recover the money I paid to them for the service they have now discontinued in blatant breech of contract.
