McDonald's Corporation - McDonald's Arch Card is a Ripoff Oak Brook Illinois
I received a McDonalds Arch Card as a Christmas present. When I attempted to redeem it, the manager said the card was worthless. The manager also said they had computer problems with selling the card just before Christmas. The manager said I could get a refund if I had an original receipt for the purchase of the card. Needless to say, the donor of the card no longer has a receipt. Thus, McDonalds get to keep the money that was used to purchase the card. McDonalds used to sell gift certificates which I think was better idea then the Arch Card. Now McDonalds has joined other greedy corporations in offering such cards. McDonalds will now make millions over unused balances on their Arch Cards and on cards purchased in which a computer glitch occurred and the bearer of the card can't produce a receipt
