Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

In Sept 2009 I signed up with this company after asking specifically if there was a certain amount of time (notice) I had to give to cancel my account or if I was signing a contract, if there were cancellation fees, etc. The person signing me up, called their supervisor and while they were on intercom with him, he stated clearly that there were no fees, penalties or contracts. Now, this month, I am getting charged a $79 fee, a PCI fee I believed they called it and also stated it was on my previous months bill, which I have yet to get, that alerted me of the charge. I called to cancel my account because I was tired of seeing that I was paying a minumum of $35 a month to have something that I was barely using and to top it off, got this new $79.00 charge. Upon calling and requesting the information on this additional charge I stated I wanted to cancel my account and I was told that was fine, I just had to pay $1085 to cancel the remainder of my "contract". A contract that was never signed, a contract that I dont have, a contract that they are "mailing" to me to look over. I have copies of every little paper that was filled out and signed while the rep was in my office and there is no part of the contract that the customer service agent was telling me to look at. Funny how this seems to be a common theme.

I specifically asked about this prior to signing on with this company because I didnt want to be locked into something. I was very mislead by this company as was the person signing me up. I listened to the supervisor tell her (us) there was not going to be any penalty charges for cancellation. OH, the best of it was the operator says, thats correct, its not a penalty charge, its just the amount that you have to pay to cancel the contract. So, I will not sit back and let this die. I will fight this on the principal alone. I honestly cant believe that companies like HSBC and Wells Fargo also have some kind of association with this company. I will find out exactly where that all comes into play.

Been dealing with this co myself and not happy with them, their fees are astronimical and your $79.00 fee is not the PCI fee, that has a range of $20-40.00 per quarter, no your $79.00 is the new annual fee.  I called tham out on this new annual fee too, as my contract states that there is no annual fee, so they broke my lease, thank you God for that! This co is aka Signature.

Don't let Signature/Global be your credit card processor!  Three year contract for processing services with AUTO renewal on the fourth year and a four year contract on the leasing of the equipment of which they tell you next to nothing on how to operate!  Then like they're doing you a favor will sell you the equipment you've been leasing over the last 4 yrs!

Good luck, I really do hope you win this one.

Dear Merchant,

NAB works very diligently to resolve all customer issues and complaints.  Since our inception in 1992, we have worked with over 125,000 merchants of all sizes and levels of complexity.  We provide a high level of service and support to our customers, as is evidenced by the low number of complaints we handle.  Occasionally we, like any other large company, may make a mistake or mishandle an issue.  When these are brought to our attention we resolve them to the best of our ability.  Our 250+ employees work hard every day to make doing business with NAB a pleasure for our merchants and stakeholders, all we ask is the opportunity to recover well.

In regards to the length of  the agreement, your individual Agreement will list per Section 13 of the terms and conditions, that it is a three year agreement.  If your agent provided you with a written documentation that advises that there is no agreement or that you are on a month to month agreement, you would need to send it to Customer Service fax at 248-283-6260 for review.

In regards to the monthly fees associated with your Merchant Account, the sheet that says Pricing Schedule would break down any and all of the fees associated with the individual account.

The debit in the amount of $79.00 was for PCI Compliance.  On the December statement, it was advised that this fee will be charged this month and why.  PCI Data Security Standard was created to offer an additional level of protection for consumers by ensuring that merchants meet minimum levels of security when they store, process and transmit cardholder data and applies to all service providers and merchants that accept credit cards regardless of size or acceptance method.  The $79.00 PCI Compliance Fee was assessed by North American Bancard to mitigate the costs associated with becoming and maintaining compliance, updating terminal software, providing applications with enhanced security, and replacing non-compliant hardware.

NAB would like to apologize for any unsatisfactory service related issues you have experienced and would like to take the opportunity to discuss this matter further.  Please have your Merchant Account number ready, and contact Diana at 248-283-6059 so that your specific situation may be properly researched and addressed.
