Beware booking with Orbitz! Booked a trip back in May to Costa Rica. Orbitz contacts me August 16th(phone,call and email, even though they claim they sent an email notification on August 1st. They stated that American Airlines no longer flies out of Costa Rica as of May or June 2nd, and they notified Orbitz of this at that time, yet they contact me a week before my trip stating I have to change my return date to a day before or after. I chose the day before and only provided me with a $50 voucher after the situation was explained. $50 for a $1000 trip that was ruined (will miss my friends wedding because of this). I don't know why I could not be transferred to someone in the US, it seems like they are reading off a page and were only saying "there's nothing I can do". They had 2 months to contact me so I can make arrangements with work, but they contact me 6 days before my trip. They blamed American Airlines of course. And when asked to speak to someone higher than her, she stated that she is the supervisor of the entire Philippines and there are no other supervisors in the entire company over the world. This is very hard to believe that the highest position at Orbitz is held by 4 supervisors in the Phillippines. Very disappointed, first time having trouble with Orbitz and this is officially the last time I will ever book anything with them again. I'd rather pay $100 extra somewhere else and get good customer service. Your slightly better prices isn't everything, you should know that. $50? I'm still laughing at that pathetic voucher for ruining a $900+ trip.
