I went to him as he came highly recommended. In the past 5 years I have had a failed back surgery, 6 cortisone injections, 8 nerve blocks, 2 nerve ablations, 3 abnormal nerve conductivity studies, 3 MRI's and 4.5 years of Oxycontin. Prior to my surgery I had no limitations, now I can barely walk or stand. He was not personable at all, and all but ignored the 5 years of medical records I provided him copies of. He said all the right words, but there was no compassion in his tone or eyes and every interaction was rushed like I was wasting his time.

I proceeded anyway because I was more interested in results. He told me my only option was a spinal stimulator, which I was all for trying. I am admittedly overweight since my activity has been reduced to near zero and asked if that would be a problem at the 2nd of 9 appointments and he said no.  It took two months to get the procedure scheduled because he said my liver tests were bad and he was afraid of a lack of clotting, all the while I wasn't allowed to take pain pills. My GP confirmed there were no issues with my clotting values and even had several phone discussions with him.

He made me repeat the blood work 4 times before doing the test procedure. He did the procedure, it worked beautifully, went from an 8 to a 2 on pain scale. No infection, no complications. He then drug his feet and made excuses for 2 months why he couldn't schedule the permanent placement then finally he pulled the rug out from under me and told me he couldn't do it because I was too heavy and there was too much risk of infection. He made it a point to tell me he had never had a post-op patient get an infection and that I was too high a risk. It would have been nice to know 9 appointments ago and thousands of dollars ago that you never had any intention of helping.
