Friends recommended the RoomStore to me, a s****.>
Arrived at the RoomStore and it was very small as per friends description of the store? I asked about this and was told "Yes this is the store your are looking for".
I discovered after talking to my friends that I was at the wrong RoomStore. they had all gone in and left after the treatment they received by the pushy sales men. There is a RoomStore that is much larger and way better pricing is given. They have the scratch and dent section at that location. Where I believed all my furniture came from even though I paid over retail.
Jac had shown me what we disscuessed by telephone and then said he would give me the discounts. The prices he told me were not what I paid. I was confused by what he was telling me with regard to pricing, trusted him to be fair with me.
Delivery took place at 8pm on July 26 2012 same day I purchased. It was dark and I flew out at 6am next day. I spent a total of $5666.48. I was told on the phone we would do this for around $3 grand?
I came down first week of Dec and noticed King size sleigh bed with king size mattress had collapsed, Called them to come out and repair that took a week and a half. It had been set up with broken slats and the tech said they used one screw rather than 3? The tech also suggested that the sleigh bed was a Cal king as there was 7 inch at the end, the matteress did not fit and my dog would fall into the hole when he jumped on the bed. He is a fast learner and found a better way.
The tags on the beds did not match invice and I was delivered beds that I had not selected.
Noticed the 2nd king mattress set was able to push my finger through the fabric and the springs were almost coming through?
Ever piece of furniture purchased had come from the scratch and dent warehouse. Have photos the of dents and scratches.
I called the customer service line and was directed to Elizabeth, no one returned my call. called again and again, left messages. received a voice message that the 90 return policy had expired, have a nice day.
Called customer service again, asked who the Regional manager is, was told I was not allowed this information?
Had the service man out yet again to try to repair the scratches and dents, he told me the name of Tim Walter. Tech also assessed that they had sent out wrong size sleigh bed and that is why the mattress was 7 inches to small.
So began my calls to Tim Walter. He is a small man with a big ego. Never returned anyone of my calls. He call screens every call he has. You can not get in touch with him.
I was able to catch Tim by sending another email from the Cambells to him. They feel so bad that they refered me to this place. Tim respond to the email by saying "I told you to stop emailing me. Jodie is the only one who has the account". I immediately emailed him back and said you are at your desk pick up the phone I am calling you now. I did and spoke with him.
I explained that Every piece of furniture was scraped, dented scratched, mis sized, over paid (that hurts the most). I said I could live with the scratches but the matteress that I paid $997.88 and $1597.88, I was over charged for what i received. Tim said "they have the best prices in town".
I suggested he go look at Sears web site as I just ordered two kings size beds that are exceptional quality for $866 each! I want him to send someone to collect these two king beds that are poorly made and may well have been used.
He suggested he would call me back. i suggested that he should as the premier of Saskatchewan and my cousin are coming this week Jan 24th 2013, yesterday and I will get these beds looked after. I confirmed my phone number with Tim.
No calls back, then I called Tim. Tim decided that I would receive an in store credit for the 2 mattresses. I said I would call him back.
I though about this and Know I am going to take further action, but I have to get these pieces of junk out of my house before the bugs start crawling out of them. I called him back and Tim said "I will set up the credit right now". I could hear him typing on his computer and I again assumed he was true to his word.
I called him right back as I forgot to get the exact dollar amount of my credit to match my invoice. Tim will not take my calls again. I have tried 4 times now and he will not take my call. Receptions asks if he is expecting my call, I say "yes" she comes back 4 min later and says he is not in!
I have read many reports of angry customers that have been lied to by the RoomStore.
Is it not time to start a class action suit against the coperation and get someone to at least tell the story of how this store can abuse it's customers and still stay in business. Do they have protection of some sort that prevents anyone or any reporter from covering a story like this? I am a women who was taken advantage of. I have read many stories and I know if asked there are many others who have been wronged. It is not life of death, rather a matter of pricipal and trust. I have a very bad taste for shops in the United States and to be a part of a scam really is upsetting to me. I came to visit to spent my hard earned money in the USA over other places as thousand of Canadians do each year. I was treated wrong by a big box store and I seek some justice.
