Seoul Amethyst Company ripoff semi-precious stone switch after purchase Seoul Korea
On June 21st 2006, I was taken to the Amethyst Factory as part of an organised afternoon tour (this was part of the iloveseoultour.com Tour 4, Royal Palace Afternoon Tour)
For USD$1550.00, I decided to purchase two Amethyst stones (1 x 19.5 carat and 1 x 8 carat). I tried to watch the salesladies as they packed my purchases and for some reason they transferred the stones from their original boxes to alternative but identical boxes. They were then wrapped up in paper and I was given some sort of Quality Guarantee certificate. The certificate did not say the weight or quality of the stones, just that I had purchased two stones. I did not check until I arrived home and have found that they have definitely switched one of the stones. To my dismay, while I definitely paid for a 19.5 carat stone, I have instead opened the box to find a 12.5 carat stone.
