I worked with Travel Exclusive as well. And you are right, you CANNOT deduct your timeshare on your taxes UNLESS it was used as an investment. I did rent mine out several times to make money, therefore mine is an investment and i DID successfully write my timeshare off on my taxes. Travel Exclusive DID tell me that i would have to have used it as an investment in order for it to be tax deductable. Maybe you were anxious to get your timeshare off of your hands that you over heard that part. I believe that Travel Exclusive helped me. Like you said, you didnt want to pay those maintenance fees.. no one does when they almost double EVERY year. Be thankful that you are out of your timeshare and that it will not be passed down as a burden to your kids.
