Tub Guy tub guy bathtub refinishing, Arrived 2 hours late at my residence, then told me he special ordered the paint (white paint). I let him and his helper do the work finding out later from a true profrssional, Nobody has to special or dallas, Texas
The Tub Guy from Dallas Craigslist Arrived 2 hours late for our appointment. when I said no I have other things to do he said he had special ordered the material (white Paint) but I felt bad for him and his helper and thought okay I will let him do it. He sprayed the tub and tile surround which was advertised on craigslist for $499.00. I also seen on his ad it said a little less talking! BULL, thats all he did was brag and talk, he has to be his biggest fan! However, after he finished it cost me $800.00. Then when he pulled the tape down above the shower my texture fell off into the tub, not a little but huge pieces that left bare sheet rock in its place. Now that texture is all over the floor of the still wet tub. I said no problem on the ceiling (i was going to have it redone anyway) but the tub? What about the tub? He said don't worry about it in 48 hours it will brush off after it dries. So, 48 hours and $800.00 later I called, emailed and texted but never got a response on the supposedly 5 year warranty. After a few days and no replies I told them to never come to my house again via text.
I again went to craigslist and this time found a complete Christian gentleman that could have charged to redo everything but only charged a trip charge to fix the small holes in the paint and smooth out all the rough areas from the stuck in texture. He applied a Clear coating over the tub and what really impressed me was the fact he did not say one negative thing about tub guy. This man was 10 minutes early, very nice and how I wish I would have seen his ad 2 weeks earlier. His first question to me was maybe the man is sick and cant get right back, he should cover it under warranty. Then I told him what I paid and he started apologizing! For something he did not even do. This may never help anyone else but it made me feel better to vent. His ads say to check out ripoff report, so maybe he will direct people to my story. BTW, the ceiling is going to cost another $3 - $400.00 to fix. Plus The inside of the tub has small runs and next to the overflow drain has small runs.
