Hello, thank you for your reply, however I was VERY clear with them on what I wanted, and I did not want them to make it new. I only wanted a very small bit of gold added to the band. If they were unable to do so, then they should have said that. I see by your reply that you are not an officer of that store, and I appreciate your suggestions, but you were not present at the store, and do not know the detials. I was fine with the scratches etc. being on the ring. All I wanted fixed was the back of the band. They completely changed the ring, and added gold to the entire ring and even widdened it! This was not what we agreed to, and I was VERY clear in my request, and I was promised that they could do the work as requested.

I'm sorry your experience was not pleasant. That said, your expectations weren't realistic. You had a 60 year old ring that you expected them to make new again without touching. The ring had just plain worn out. The ring had a "dull finish with some recessed accents... it had some wear scratches...the scratches gave it character. My point exactly. You wanted it made new again without touching it. Now I don't know if this was a lack of communication between you and the store or you or the store. But there's no way to make a ring new again without working on it. Old rings develope a patina on them where the satin or brushed finish wears down/off over 60+ years. I would have passed on this mission impossible. There's no excuse for the way your child was treated. Just my 20+ years experience.
