Westcott Mazda Bait & Switch Operation -- Watch Out National City California
My nephew and I did an internet search for a Mazda 3. This dealer responded with an email that they had the car we were looking for at a price that we liked. We called the fleet manager twice to confirm that they had the car we wanted available at the dealership. It's 12 miles away, so I didn't want to take a drive unless they had the car. The fleet manager confirmed that they had the car in inventory.
We arrived and were shown a different car. When we declined, the sales manager told us they don't have the car. When I pointed out that we had carefully checked to make sure they did have the car, he shrugged his shoulders and said it was a mistake -- but that he had other cars available at different prices. This is a classic "bait and switch". We left of course and I'm in the process of reporting the dealership to the Internet services, the Attorney General's Office and the media.
