Wilshire increases my escrow for property taxes from $1400 annually to $1400 MONTHLY.

I call over 100 times.

I write letters.

They promise to "look into it".

Wilshire applies my mortgage payments to the escrow account and files a foreclosure action stating that my mortgage payments are in arrears.

They have enough funds in the escrow account to cover the mortgage payments.

To "cure" the default they are asking that I continue to pay $1400 per month in escrow payments in addition to the mortgage payment even though the property taxes are only $1400 per YEAR!

If they are successful in foreclosing on my home they end up with a $40,000 windfall because their new pay-off on the loan represents these mythical real estate escrow taxes, excessive attorney fees, property inspection fees and etc...

And this appears to be happening all across the U.S.

These people are unreal...

I have called and wrote numerous angencies regarding my experience with Wilshire only to not get anywheres. My state Insurance, Banking & Mortgage Department informs me that since Wilshire is not located in my state they can not do anything or even look into the matter. I have wrote, called and emailed complaints to Oregon's BBB department and was told that I needed to file a complaint in person. Yea, like I can afford to hop on a plane and fly across the country! I've spent 2 years writing, calling and talking to anyone and everyone who would listen - state senators, assemblymen, lawyers, etc., until I finally got tired of hitting that brick wall. You know that old saying "can't fight city hall."

Write to Federal Trade Commission & State Attorney General

If EVERYONE would contact the Federal Trade Commission and their State Attorney General's Office, perhaps Wilshire will be forced to stop all the fraud and deception. There IS strength in numbers.
