Ab Fab Management Jane Rooney fraud agency, scamming agency, photomill, 1680 Michigan Ave Suite 700, Florida
I worked with ab fab management and Jane did nothing but lie and scam my mother and I out of money for 3 photo shoots and her website. I booked 2 jobs and I never got payment. For 6 months Jane said the client hadnt paid then in January she said I owed her for a website fee and she kept my payment over $600 to pay for it. Two other models told me that Jane did the same to them and thats why they left ab fab. I also spoke to a make up artist friend of mine and she said that Jane is known for stealing from models and to never trust anything she says. I saw these reports and wanted to tell my story. Can someone tell me who do I file a compliant with and how do I get my money back? thx

If enough models complain about the agency, her business license may be revoked. Especially if she is breaking the law when it comes to paying models after she receives payment from the client. The State of Florida requires agents to pay their models within 5 days. It is a third degree felony to break these laws.
Agents are not allowed to use the model funds as their own personal piggy bank; these monies are entrusted to them in a fiduciary capacity. It is YOUR money, not the agents. Her bank statements will clearly reflect the date she received the client payment, the date she withdrew monies for her own personal use, etc. It can be subpoenaed during an investigation that is initiated by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).
Many agents think that they can use the funds in an almost ponzi scheme way (using the model funds for their own bills, then waiting for the next big client check to come in, so they can disburse payments to models who have complained enough about not having been paid yet). Agents are only allowed to take their commission, but since the law does not require them to maintain a trust account, like an attorney, these agents are doing whatever they want. If enough models take action, the state will pass a law that will better regulate the industry.
File a formal complaint with the DBPR and ask them how you can go about making a claim against her $5,000 bond. The department should have the bond holder's information on file, which was required to be submitted to the department when the agent first applied for her license.
