Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

look this company up on bbb you will find just some of the things they are doing to me. The details below do not even start to cover what they have done with this loan!

This credit union was assigned to me by woodmen nissan of colorado springs

aafcu has held my auto loan from 2016 to current.  They repoed my vehicle last year saying I had no proof of insurance when I left the auto dealership lot, copy of my contract says I had esurance..they repeatedly  say I have no proof of auto insurance charge me up 4k for cpi..forced protection insurance, refund a portion of it then add the rest to the end of contract, they redid contract and increased my premiums, then when auto debit only covered set premiums charged me late fees of up to 400.00 dollars.

  1. on a conference call with aafcu who said she was the only person to help me with the many unusual discrepancies on the payment invoice she could not explain why the payments i am making are being split up she could not explain why the paperwork sent to me has a different start loan amount why they charged the loan for cpi for a year why they repoed my vehicle in 2018 when all payments auto debit early and never missed and they have had the loan since 2016 and on and on and on this has turned into a predatory loan I have filed a complaint with the colorado attorney general's office I have retained an attorney.  At the very least they have unethical unprofessional very questionable loan practices! I am also contacting ceo glen strebe, all media outlets, I believe the public needs to be aware and informed.

I filed a complaint a legitimate complaint...I am not required to put every single detail of the loan issue is this complaint.  Actually, you need to, otherwise it isn't a valid complaint.  The fact you ignored the terms of your loan and had to have insurance forced upon you by the credit union speaks volumes to your overall lack of attention to detail and general apathy.

And before you say how dare we judge you - let's remember, you posted your complaint on a public website in order for consumers to harshly judge the company you're dealing with.  Otherwise, there is no reason to post the complaint.  However, before we can judge the company, we have to judge whether this complaint and its author have any credibility.  The fact you got yourself into this mess by having insurance forced upon you in order to comply with the T&C's of your loan - speaks volumes to your overall lack of credibility.

You are clearly a person on low confidence and or low self esteem, only such people have a need to bully and belittle people to make themselves feel of better value.  Non-responsive rebuttal to your situation, nor does it explain why you couldn't even get yourself to buy auto insurance consistent with what you needed.

Didn't your momma tell you mean people suck!  So do people who lie - whether by omission or commission.

Now to the rest of it:

You don't have a predatory loan.  The fact you have a loan from a credit union for an automobile pretty much eliminates that possibility.  Now, it sounds like they took the cost of the insurance and tacked it onto the overall cost of the loan, which they can do, since you agreed to that when you signed the loan document.  By doing that, without changing the other terms and conditions of the loan, that action increased your overall monthly payment, which is then split between your car payment and your insurance.  A predatory loan is not a loan in which you can't afford the payments, or have insufficient amounts in your account to make the payment.

What you really needed to do to avoid all of this is to buy automobile insurance that would generally include liability, collision, and comprehensive coverage; it is far cheaper to go that route than to have the CU place the insurance on your car, and you have failed both in your narrative and your rebuttal to present a valid reason why you chose not to buy automobile insurance.  BTW - I should add there is no good reason anyone can provide for not buying the insurance policy.  It's a dumb move not to buy it, but at this point, it's too late.  The CU will have your car auctioned off to offset the remainder of the loan - if there is a shortage, then legally you could be responsible for the difference.  That's where your attorney can help - perhaps he/she can get you off the hook for any shortage.  Otherwise, I suspect your attorney is not going to be of much help to you.

Best of luck to you....

- You are correct you aren't required to give any details. But when you leave very important details off, the PUBLIC may post questions asking for clarification.

When you finance a vehicle through any bank they require the loan holder to maintain proper insurance throughout the loan.

You say that your contract stated you had "Esurance" when you bought the car, but that is no proof that you had or continued to maintain proper coverage. The fact that you haven't stated anything about the coverage you had or sending actual proof of insurance to them, we can only figure that you did not.

Missing Details

You seem to be missing several details about this insurance.

They repoed my vehicle last year saying I had no proof of insurance when I left the auto dealership lot, copy of my contract says I had esurance

- You bought the car in 2016, it was not reposessed until 2018.

Insurance Policies are for either 6 or 12 months. Which means 6 months after you bought the car you may be required to provide proof that you still have the appropriate insurance coverage. This is in the form of an Insurance Declaration from your Insurance Carrier. Notice that I stated "appropriate" coverage. As since you are financing the vehicle they will  require you to maintain FULL coverage which includes Liability as well as Comprehensive and Collision. There is also probably a requirement to have a minimal deductible amount, such as $500. If you do not meet these minimum requirements the loan company can(and will) put "Forced Placed" insurance on your vehicle.

Back to your original loan contract. What is written on the contract is MEANINGLESS, what counts is that Insurance Declaration from your carrier. All the dealer is required to do is make sure you have liability insurance at the time of purchase to take the car off the lot.  They have no control over it if you cancel your insurance a days or weeks later. They definatly have no control over what happens at your next renewal. So when you first got the car, did you send your declaration to them or did you just give them the "non-answer" of "Well it's in the contract".

Beyond that did you maintain FULL COVERAGE with the minimum requirements during the entire car loan? That is you never cancelled it or had it cancelled for ANY reson? Did you send proof of this to them when required.

By the way this is the same requirement EVERY finance company would have.

In the second grade, they teach the basics of elementary grammar, writing sentences, capitalization and sentence structure. Since you don't seem to have a grasp of those easy child subjects, it's quite possible you don't have any understanding of what's going on. A major discrepancy...you claim you had insurance, the proper coverages, when you left the lot yet no where in your attempt to "write" out your complaint do you ever say this insurance you claim to have had is in effect! You go all thru this saying they added premiums to the end of the loan yet you could have said they stopped the FPI when you provided proof. You went along with the FPI, didn't you? Anybody with half a brain knows the lender's profit comes from interest. If the lender's security is not in danger and payments are on time, they are NOT going to lose their source of profit by doing a repo for absolutely no reason! Bottom line here is there's no doubt more to the story than your are telling.
