box-officetickets.com is one of the most predatory ticket scalping outfits we have encountered. Our tickets to a Michael Flatley dance performance cost us more than twice the price charged by the venue. ($96 per ticket, compared to $47 charged by the venue). That is more than a 100% markup.
Our experience with box-officetickets.com got worse: the charge for this "service" perpetrated by them was a whopping $31.68. In comparison, the venue box office charges only $9.50 for their convenience fee. Ye gods, almost a 300% markup!
These scalpers are as wily as they are predatory. Seeing their legitimate-looking name and their prominent top-of-the-list position, we clicked to their link, believing theirs was the link to the venue. What a costly mistake we made! As a senior citizen, I find their predation especially frustrating and disheartening.
