I just received a lovely little letter from one of my credit card providers, formerly First USA - now taken over by Chase which states that my interest rate has been raised from 15% to 20% due to my account going over its limit.  I thought it strange as I'd never gone over the limit before, so I went looking through my statements and found that I had never gone over the limit on my own, however an $8 "credit protection fee" turned out to be the culprit.  Mind you nobody from Chase or First USA or whoever I'm dealing with now ever bothered to call or ask if I wanted this additional service. 

Aside from charging me $40 for the overage caused by this service I never ordered or wanted, they're further penalising me by raising my interest rate.  I don't care how big, self important, or fancy these guys think they are but I'm sorry.  This sort of predatory behaviour is just downright thuggish at best and I refuse to deal with any sort of company that conducts itself in such a way. 

Chase, you ripped me off with your downright immoral and unethical practices.  Now you're loosing any current and future business that you may have received from me, my company, or my family.  If you want to survive, especially after blowing your government handout money on a shopping spree for smaller companies, I'd suggest you cease bullying your customers around as though you were a common street corner thug.
