I was on the carnival pride that sailed out of Baltimore MD on 11/1/10.

I booked a stateroom with an outside balcony.

My balcony had a water leak from an over head valve and the was chiiped paint everywhere, on the chairs, table floor and they kept flying.

When I complained to the pursers desk they sent som onr to fix the leak and clean up the mess.

How ever the balcony was still not usable, who wants flying chipped paint in the hair, eyes, drinks, or heaven forbid mouth or nose?

Upon my return home I wrot to carnival to complain but all I got was an apology. They daid they are not going to offer me restitution, I feel i am being cheated.

I paid for something i could mot use! I feel it is only fair that the cruise line do 1 of 2 things. Refund me the differance of waht i paid for the balcony room and would of paid for just an ocean view room, or give me a voucher for a FREE upgrade on my next cruise form an ocean view to a balcony.....

This was my 9th cruise with carnival so my expectations were REAL and only based on past cruise experiance.

What really happened?

I'm a little hesitant to believe the picture painted by the Op here. I do know Carnival tends to be a little slow with their ship upkeep, but I just cannot imagine constantlysnowing paint chips. If a problem persisted after the leak was fixed, it should have been pointed out to customer service. If a balcony was that uninhabitable, hell should have been raised on board until a resolution was found, not wait until after the cruise.

Was the Leak Fixed?

How long after the leak was discovered was it fixed and the paint cleaned up? After the leak was fixed and the paint cleaned up why couldn't you use the balcony? If I recieved your letter these are the questions I would have asked myself.

You should have recieved a partial refund or upgrade had you been unable to use the balcony for the majority of the cruise but if the leak had been fixed and the mess cleaned up why were you prevented from using the balcony?
