Citi Financial lied to us and told us that we were lying Idaho Falls Idaho
went in and got a second loan through them and they lied to us and attached it to our home when we asked if it was a second morgage we were told no and when we went to refinance we found out that there was a lean on our house, when called to make complaint was told that we were liers and that we were wrong and didn't help us at all. we pay our bills on time every month the least we could have asked for was help and didn't recieve that from them. they are dishonest and wouldn't recommend them to anyone because they will lie to you.

A lien is not a second mortgage

They did not lie to you, A lien is not a second mortgage but security on the loan. A lien like this one would not effect your credit but would need to be paid off to be released. As you found out.

After dealing with citifinancial and them giving us the run around we went else where got a loan and paid off citifinancial and we are never going to do business with them anymore, because they have lied to us and would not help us out when we were very good about always making our payments on time every month. I would not recomend anyone to go to them because they wont tell you the truth even when you ask them point blank. and if you want to make a complaint they wont even do that either they have very bad customer service.
