Cricket Wireless Phone Company Premier zones are NOT what they tell you, eating all my roam mins. they would not help me Charlotte North Carolina
I have been with Cricket Wireless for approx 8 months. I have the premier package meaning Unlimited calls and texts but only 200 roam mins. I stopped by the Cricket store in Indian trail before taking my trip to Chicago, IL. Just checking to make sure it was a Premier zone. It was!!
However, when I got there my phone would NOT go out of roam. I immediately went to a Cricket store and the kid there told me that I probably needed a tri-band phone. (trying to get me to buy a new phone) He said a Tri-band phone works better when your far from home. I told him I was in Southern FL and had no problems and other areas.
Please understand something, there are more Cricket stores in Chicago then McDonalds. You see them everywhere, they advertise on TV but no one was willing to help me. I called their customer service and the gentleman asked me all these questions, YES,YES, YES. I had done everything right but it still wouldnt go out of roam. Eating my 200 mins away.
I even asked the guy if they would just give me my 200 mins back so at least I had someway to make calls. He said no, they couldnt do that.
I found out later from a friend that I could have bought roam mins. Not that I should have had to, I was in a Premier zone that always worked in ALL other premier locations. But it may have been cheaper than buying the pay as you go phone.
I had to spend almost 75.00 to buy a pay as you go phone and mins while I was in Chicago. It should have never been.
Yesterday was my last day with Cricket, I let my month run out.
Im quite disappointed that they were not willing to help me out more.
Granted 8 months isnt a long time with a company but I was one who paid my bill on time, etc....

Btw, my phone came back out of roam in the middle of Indiana where there is pretty much NOTHING. Go figure, but it doesnt work in major city like Chicago.
