" I had to purchase an extended warranty on a new car, which raised it $2,000.00"
No you didn't have to purchase it. You're correct that extended warranties are a big profit center for dealers. As such, they will tell you just about anything to get you to purchase one. If you had simply said "No, I will not buy the warranty for $2K", they would have sold you the car anyway. No lender requires the purchase of extended warranties on brand new cars. That's just a ridiculous story they tell you in order to get you to sign on the dotted line.

You should be able to cancel the extended warranty by contacting the warranty company. You do not have to go through the dealer to do it. You can also get your Malibu serviced at any Chevrolet dealer you chose you do not have to use the selling dealer. And it is true you need to price shop before you buy.
