I am being harrassed to repay a 26 year old student loan, that I was told years ago that I didn't have to repay due to the school closing before I could complete the course. I was bullied into agreeing to a payment plan of $60.00 a month, and when I did all I could do to make my first initial payment before the due date of September 7, 2011, I am being told that my payment never made it to them (ECMC). I mailed several other bills on the same day 9/3/2011 and everyone else got thier payments. When I made follow up calls to verify if my payment had been recieved, I was told that my payment had not been made. Today 9/13/2011, I was being threatened to make a payment by noon tomorrow. I stated that I have no money, that I live from paychek to paycheck, and was told that it was my responsibility and since I can't make a payment that my repayment agreement would be terminated and be garnished from my wages through my employer. Is this legal even when I was complying to the terms of repayment? I am stressed out and afraid that I won't be able to pay my bills because of these bullying and unfair people. The agent I was talking to in regards to repaying my OLD debt was named Josh,M. and he was very rude, demanding and threatened me trying to get money from me that I do not have. I had also previously talked to a Lady before my case got transferred to this guy back in August 2011,and I had asked her why hadn't I ever been contacted 20 or so years ago. She was very rude and unwilling to listen to me when I explained to her that the school closed and that I was incarcerated for 10 years and was released in 2002,and have been working since then, and never heard from these people.I also never recieved any letters from them in the past in regards to a DEFAULTED student loan that I never was aware of.These people are totally rude and I don't know what to do next,is there any help out there for me????
