They are only doing what you agreed they could do when you got the card. Frankly, a mere 6% increase is pretty mild compared to what most banks are doing these days. You should feel lucky. Now, if you want to avoid finding out how bad a credit card car really screw you, I suggest you pay off that balance as soon as you can. Now might be a good time to dig out that credit card agreement and see what they could do to you if they really need cash.
