On May 29, 2008, the California Commissioner of Corporations issued a Desist and Refrain Order requiring Freedom Financial Network and all of its subsidiaries to refrain from engaging in business in the state of California. THe company is charged with such things, including, failure to maintain minimum net worth of $25,000 and engaging in business without a license by the Department of COrproations (Prorater). The nine page order contains such accusations as "the Commissioner is of the opinion" that FFN and its affiliates have been overcharging its customers.
Check out the California Commission of Corporations website for a copy of the Desist and Refrain Order at http://www.corp.ca.gov/ENF/list/f/default.asp
If you are a California resident and believe this company has engaged in business in violation of this order, contact the office of the California Corporations Commissioner.
