 I signed up for Windows hosting and began to set up my account when the "Help Box" popped up. I explained what I was doing and the rep told me that he recommended Linux hosting instead. He walked me through cancelling Windows and setting up Linux... No Biggie. The problem was I was hit twice for web hosting... No Biggie. I contacted Godaddy and told them just to credit my hosting account. I was told they couldn't do that because it was after 48 hrs. Say What? See... this wasn't some snafu I did in my own. This involved a "helpful" Godaddy rep. I had a Windows hosting account for less than five minutes but I was charged for it even though I was attempting to convert it to Linux. I am convinced that if I originally set up a Linux account the rep have recommended Windows instead. This is a bait and switch scam. They get you to undo what you did thinking the money that is already spent will apply to the changes when it's not. What store keeps your money or doesn't issue you a credit once you return the merchandise unused? Apparently Godaddy does.
