I have had tarsal tunnel and plantar fascia in 2011 and 2012 in NJ.  I have since moved to Florida thinking everything would be okay.  This is not the case.  I have been to Doctor's, specialist, Hospital ER, and pain management.  I have found no release and no care from either of the above.  Last night I started to have pain that got worse over night pain in foot going up leg into abdominail area.  I have some clue of what is going on as I have a MRI and a EMG.  They, meaning my foot Dr stated scar tissue wrapped around my nerve and needs to have surgery.  I have been to many Dr's who just keep referring me to other Dr's who basically state they will not touch me and will not give me anything for pain including anti inflammitories.  Today I went to Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to the pain being so bad (9-10).  When the Dr walked in he asked what the problem was and I stated my case and what I think was going on. I also stated that in the last few months it has gotten worse with pain traveling up my leg and into my hip and abdomial area.  He asked if I was taking pain meds on a regular bases and my answer was no.  He told me I was a drug addict and will not give me any pain medicine at the Hospital or go home with any.  I had X-Rays and a ultra sound done for a blood clot, which I know do not show nerve damage.  I knew I didn't have a blood clot and X-rays do not show scar tissue wrapped around my nerve.  This Dr was rude, ignorant and very unprofessional.  His attuidute was I was there only for the drugs I was given 2 tylenol and a anti inflamitory which did nothing for my pain.  This was this morning and I am in still allot of pain!  I was treated like a drug addict and not a patient that has a serious problem with pain and not sure what the problem acutally is.  I went for help and got treated very badly by this Dr.  I don't know where to go or how to get treatment right now.  I feel I was treat unfairly and not treated like a human being.

first of all, I am not a drug addict and did not go there looking for drugs.  I went to the Hospital to get help for an unknown problem, which is still unknown and still in pain....if I was a addict I could easily get drugs off the street!  I am looking for help so God forbid I can be pain free or at least less pain.  I am unable to walk since the last surgery.  My husband was in the room and he heard everything.  No I did not give them the ok for my medical records, but if they would have asked I would have, gladly!!  I have nothing to hide!  Monday I am going to see Dr #6 to see if he can get the scar tissue off my nerve! (No I am not asking for meds!)  I don't want pain meds, I just want help in fixing the problem/problems!! YOU tell me there's more to my story???  No there isn't, I don't know what is completely wrong, I am no Dr.....however I do have a medical backround.  This is about how I was treated!  No referral to a Dr or a ultra sound of my abd area....I would just be happy with walking and feeling good without any meds!!!!  It's been 3 years and has gotten worse, and no I have NOT been on pain meds for 3 years!!! which I have already explained.  I know how much I can handle and how much people can not feel my pain. You don't/can't walk in my shoe's, if and when I do try to walk!! Thank you for making me feel like I have nothing to do but go to the ER and try to get narc's!!!  Thanks!!

It would be advisable to read it.

Ken

Colorado,
You sure picked the wrong state to live in if you need/desire painkillers..

The laws have been considerably toughened lately for dispensing narcotics.  YOU are almost certainly leaving out some details here.  The penalties to Doctors for violating the law are severe and you, frankly, aren't worth it to them.

I know you won't believe this, but they are trying to protect you from yourself.

What the DR said to you and what you state is one sided because you are the only person who is filing this report.  So how is one to know that the Dr did call you an addict?? Does this hospital have access (with your permission) to your medical records?? Just asking because it happened to someone I knew and I was in the room when this happened.  And NO I do not work for this facility.
