Moving on Up Movers Movers USA Typical Movers, bait and switch Hollywood Florida
I was moving from Pa. to Florida. I went on an orbitz site to get quotes from several moving company's. I actually picked one out of NYC, even though they were a bit higher in price, they had mostly good reviews. The lowest bid was from a company called Moving on Up AKA Movers USA. They bid $914.00. I received a telephone call from Phyllis from this company and when I told her that I chose another company because of the good reviews and explained that her company had awful reviews both on the Federal Government site and also on other sites.
Well Phyllis talked me into using her service, stating she will give me her cell phone, so I can contact her at every step of the move. It should be noted that I had made an inventory list and measured every item I was shipping, so there would be no mistakes.
So long story short. I never spoke to Phyllis again, the cell number was answered by a male who answered Movers USA, NOT moving on up. The truck arrived and they proceeded to load my shipment. I was told after putting down a down payment, I was to pay $411 on pickup and $411 on delivery. Well after they had all of my stuff the manager on the truck came in and presented me with a bill for $614 with another $614 in cash or money order only to be paid upon delivery. I protested and attempted to call Phyllis numerous times. But they had me help hostage with my stuff on the truck already.
This company is as so many moving companies a scam and a rip off...I should have used the company I originally picked out. I let that @ss Phyllis sweet talk me into using this scam of a company..........NOW ALL I CAN DO IS WARN OTHERS!
