Ordered a new Heartland Cyclone 3800 Toy Hauler from Sales Manager Norm Wells of National RV Detroit in April 2013.  I was concerned with the quality of the patio door storm window inserts that came with the unit at that time; the inserts were essentially plastic wrap.  I would not have bought the unit based on the quality of these windows.

Heartland Customer Rep AJ told me that Heartland was coming out with plexiglass inserts, and if I ordered the unit I would get these better inserts.  I had the better inserts included as a provision in the Purchase Agreement, and trusted Norm and AJ's word that the unit would be delivered with the inserts as promised and as part ot the Agreement.

When the unit arrived in May 2013, it had the cheap plastic wrap storm inserts on the unit.  Norm Wells of National RV Detroit called AJ at Heartland RV, who said they would get them to me ASAP.  Norm assured me that if I signed for the unit and took possession, he would get me the proper inserts as per the Purchase Agreement.  Norm issued me a "we owe" ticket with a promised delivery date of 90 days (end of August 2013).

The inserts were not provided by that time, and in fact have still not been provided as of this date (July 1st, 2014).  I had several phone calls and e-mail exchanges with Norm regarding National RV Detroit's obligation to provide the promised storm inserts, including a face to face encounter at the Michigan MARVAC RV Show in Novi in February, when Norm indicated he was still working on it, and promised me he would have the required storm inserts by Memorial Day 2014.  The inserts were not provided by that time, and Norm is now ignoring my calls and e-mails.

The bottom line is:  (1) Use caution when buying anything from National RV Detroit  (2)  Use caution when buying a Heartland RV product (3) Never take delivery of an RV unless everything promised is there; don't trust the issuance of a "we owe" ticket, because there is no guarantee you will ever get it.  If they have your money, they have no motivation to provide what was promised.
