Jan 2, 2013 I was discharged from North Central Hospital in San Antonio, TX without having bandages changed.  This is after an aide watched me clean up an accident due to type of surgery.  I had had a 6 1/2 surgery, on pain meds, and allowed not only to clean mess, but shower on my own being sent home without site being checked. I was also given wrong dose of medication, had to call doctor so someone would get me up to walk the next day, unplugged from pain machine for 1 1/2 hours.  Contacted the Hospital Administrator who, until statute of limitations was up, would not see me in person.  He called a meeting of others from the hospital to listen to my complaint which did absolutely no good except tell me that no doctor is going to want to clean up another doctor's mistake.  Accepted no responsibility, other than an apology letter, for what took place.

It seems quite ordinary in San Antonio for doctors to abuse the tort reform laws.  Being held accountable in this state is practically non existant.  I wrote to the Bureau of Health Services and they denied any action.  I wrote to the Commissioner, the Texas State Medical Board, which, finally, after two letters, has given me the opportunity to plead my case.  The statute of limitations was over, by the way, before they wrote saying they would listen to me.

I have spent taxpayers dollars because of a surgery I didn't need, an infection which led to another surgery, and, because of this, I am in so much pain, I am homebound.  I was active, healthy, and certainly had no gastro issues until this surgery and the hernia repair.

I am filing an appeal with Medicare so that hopefully the hospital and the doctor will have to reimburse Medicare.

i was in the hospital because my provider scated me into thinking I had to have surgery as did Wm Canon Lewis. He also told me the surgery could help with back pain so he did surgery because I wanted it!!! Is that how it is?  Isn't dr the one to determine need?  He removed healthy colon and did not need to. Admitted he faiiled. Look at date. Taxes plus he was money anxious being new to civilian practice. I had no gastro issues. Want me to put his report online? I'd give anything to have Lewis and myself questioned and my provider right there.

WHAT?? Your report is very vague on what your condition was and the reason you were in the hospital to begin with.
