Harrassment by Ocwen Bank Scam
January 6, 2002.
My loan is being serviced by Ocwen Bank as of Oct.1, 2001. Since that time I have received at least 2 phone calls a month asking for personal information such as the amount of my utility bills, social security number.
In addition, they call within the grace period days after the payment has been mailed to ask when I sent it, the amt. of the check and check number.
I finally told one of their reps that if she needed that kind of information it should be in writing to me.
I never got anything. Apparently as of the last business day (Jan.5) they still have not credited my account even though the payment was mailed 2 weeks ago and the phone calls come in daily.
Today received a letter dated 9 days before the grace period was up. I have never encountered any lienholder with these kind of practices.
I have contacted the Federal Trade Commission and the adviser was shocked at these tactics and I was advised to file a formal complaint as well as document all interaction with Ocwen.
