Select Home Warranty-Dennis & Jason both Dennis and Jason said a manager would call me. Never received a call even though my Ice Maker and my first service did not have a deductible or fee? Everyone is a manager. I purchased optional ice maker coverage for my refrigerator and the first service or deductible was zero and they say the ice maker is not covered? and that there is a $45 service fee (deductible). I also have to wait one week to get any service. I want my money back so that I can buy a reputable home warranty plan. Mahwah New Jersey
I paid for a 3 year 6 month home warranty plan in July 2014. I wrote down everything that it included so that I would not have a problem if I ever needed to use the warranty.
On June 16, 2015 I callled in a claim, my warranty number is SHW-114628. I spoke to Jason & Dennis who both said they were managers? Initially my claim was reported with NO PROBLEMS. The Ice Makers on both the refrigerators stopped working for some unknown reason (possibly because of the temperature being over 100 degrees for 3 days straight causing the ice makers from working extra hard).
I purchased a PLATINUM CARE PACKAGE and first noticed (July 2014) that they sent me a coverage sheet that did not list my ICE MAKER for the refigerators. I have two refrigerators one is in the garage the other in my Kitchen. I sent the coverage sheet back and Select Home Warranty and they added the Ice Maker as an OPTIONAL COVERAGE SELECTED.
I also was to receive the FIRST and only the FIRST service without a fee or deductible.
Now comes the problems Select Home Warranty claims called me back. 1. I did not have included the optional ice maker for both my refrigerators. 2. They now say I have a $45 fee or deductible. 3. I have to wait a week for service. 4. They do not return my calls after calling several times requesting that a REAL MANAGER call me.
I asked the so called manager to show me where I was not covered and they could not. They claimed they listed to a recording on my purchase but could not let me hear it???
Since it is obvious that they do not want to live up to their oontract I am asking for my money back so that I can get a REPUTABLE WARRANTY SERVICE PLAN. It cost me $1050 for my warranty that does not seem to cover anything but instead excludes everything when a claim is made???
I did some further investigation of this company and they are notorious for denying claims that are covered, Instead of looking for coverage they look for ways to deny ligiitament claims. I also found out that they do not pay their contractors on time and further try to reduce their bill or not pay for part of their service.
