I purchased a one year policy with Select Home Warranty in January, 2015.  In May,2 015 I called to request service on my 5 year old dishwasher.  It stopped draining in the middle of the cycle.  I paid my $45 service fee, for the technician to diagnose the problem.  They immediately asked me for pictures of my dishwasher.  I was not at home, therefore did not have the pictures, and indicated to them that the service technician took photos and indicated that he would send them. I asked them why they were asking me for the photos and not the technician, at which time they sent me a blurb from my contract saying that the contract states that they can ask me for pictures of the dishwasher.  I should have known then that this was not going to go well, but I acquiesced and sent them the pictures they requested.  The next business day, I received another copy of my contract, and them stating that they were not going to cover the repairs on our dishwasher.  The reasons for this have changed, from the technician stated our machine was in poor repair and that it looked like it was ten years old with rust and corrosion, to now today they are not going to cover the repairs because there is food debris in the machine.  Keep in mind, it had not completed its cycle when the pump stopped working.  The food debris claim is new today, because yesterday in email I told them that it was an utter lie that my machine was in poor repair and that they needed to prove to us that our machine was rusted, corroded, or otherwise badly maintained.  In the end, they are not going to cover our machine because we used it. The dishwasher broke in the course of normal wear and tear.  They asked us to send receipts to prove when we purchased the machine, and then just kept making stuff up.  We have no rust and corrosion, I doubt that there was actually food debris, because we drained the dishwasher prior to the service and there was no food in the drainage tube. One of the buttons on the front panel is worn out, but still works, so the wear is completely cosmetic.  They just simply don't want to fix anything. Do not get suckered by this company.  A good warranty price means nothing if they do nothing, which is how Select Home Warranty operates.  I will be copying this to face book and any other site possible, because I can't stand for anyone else to get scammed into paying for a warranty with this company.
