To Larry the employee, No if I buy a phone to replace one that was damaged then no changes are necessary to my plan. I have had to do this in the past and never had my plan changed by any carrier ever. I am still try to solve this as I was never informed that by simply buying a new card I was agreeing to a new plan. And I'm probably not gonna go with Cricket but living in the middle of a corn field my options are rather limited.

If you purchased a new aircard, the system that Sprint uses will not allow activation of said Aircard on an unlimited data plan. All of Sprint's mobile broadband plans are capped at 5GB now. If you had bought a new phone that required an add on, then yes, the same thing would have happened. What's happening is not shady per se, however, someone (either CC or the store rep) should have told you about the 5GB cap. If you need any more information, please ask.

You said you got the card for less than expected. Was this due to a rebate or a discount they offered you at the sprint store? If so, by accepting the discount you may have let them sign you up for a new contract. I would check in to that.

Are you serious about Cricket? I mean have you not looked up Cricket on here? They have all sorts of complaints. I've talked to people here in the Chicagoland area about Cricket and have yet to hear anything good about them. If you go w/Cricket, good luck to ya! Yeah, Sprint has always been good for just changing things randomly. I know people that use to work for Sprint in store & in Customer Service. Not surprised to hear that.
