Did you cancel your trial subscription after receiving the disks? Their website clearly states that you purchase a 10 day trial for your $8.51 (I'm assuming the 10.56 is with shipping) and if at the end of the 10 days you do not cancel your subscription you will be billed for the software. From their website: Video Professor believes that once you try our lessons, you'll come back to us for all of your computer learning needs! When you order online, any TWO of the three computer tutorial CD-ROMs are yours FREE with no further obligation, PERIOD. Take 10 days to decide if you want to keep the complete set of CDs. After your 10-day free trial, if you decide to keep the complete set, we'll conveniently bill your credit card $189.95. If you decide to return any one of the lessons, simply call our Customer Care number and you will be charged nothing more, and get to keep two computer learning CD-ROMS, FREE! Have you done this? Q: What is Video Professor's Return Policy? A: You have up to 30 days from the ship date to return your lesson(s). If you would like to return your lesson(s) (at the then-current exchange rate for Canadians), please contact us at 1-800-519-4110, send back your three CDs, and we will refund your shipping & processing fee upon your request. A Return Authorization Number MUST appear on the outside of any returned lesson. Returning a lesson without this number can result in your credit card being charged if we can't locate your account to stop billing. Any requests for refunds AFTER 30 days are subject to review and refusal at Video Professor's sole discretion. Special promotions and incentives may not be combined. It seems they have a system in place to take care of your complaint. You say you contacted american express, but you never say you contacted video professor about your billing. Did you discuss it with them first? The charge is legitimate if you did not cancel in the 10 day period. You now need to seek a refund within the 30 day period.
