A little over a year ago, after having been with Aarons for a year, we found ourselves in need of a stove and fridge.

I walked into the store and was shown two items on discount because:

1. The refridgerater had been rented out twice and sustained some damage.

     The right door didnt close properly, there were big dents in the sides and doors. The tray under the water dispenser was missing, and the bottom front grill was missing. For this I was quoted for 1 year monthly payments $69

2. The stove was severly dented on the left side as well along the top on the back as it had been dropped by one of the employees while unloading. The glass had been replaced in the door twice beause it was dropped. First break during the initial first drop, then second when they received the replacement glass it was dropped. They claimed it was 6 months old and this was $64.99 a month for 12 months.

So I rented them on a bundled agreement. Since the first two weeks were free, I didn't have to make a payment.

When it came time to make the payment I noticed the full payment was $187 and also noticed at this time the agreement had been drawn up for 24 months.

Yes I didnt notice it when I signed, because we were talking about what the actually agreement was as he pointed out places for me to sign.

I contatced the store and was told I'd misunderstood. Being an older woman I thought perhaps I had but my daughter in law had been with me and she heard the same thing. If I hadn't needed the two so bad for my grandchildren to have in the home, Id have fought that.

I should have because hindsight is 20/20

I ran into financial difficulties in Dec of 16. I askd them to pick them up. They offered to rewrite the agreement. I couldn't make the payment. I told them I wasn't sure about this. But the manager told me they would place it in the system like Id returned it for 30 days and start where Id left off.

This worked until my hours were cut at the end of May. I continued to pay on my bedrom set and asked them to pick up the stove and fridge. My son and his wife bought a used set.

When Id call in my payment Id ask about them picking that up.

I also asked to make sure my payment was applied to just my bedroom which only has 3 months of payments left.

They finally agreed to come get them after I questions why they were splitting the payments across the two accounts.

While here they couldnt get the fridge out, the doors, which had been a problem when delivering had to be removed.

This was an issue on deliver which had cause damage to the lower right door hinge which already had issues.

After trying to get the doors off for 15 minutes or so, the one pick up person stated he had to make a call.

He came back and said he couldnt pick up either because they were damaged and infested with cockroaches.

We have a cockroach service in here every month. We may see one or two but not enough to consider an infestation.

Then they said I was financially responsible for the time I had it before they came out. Well excuse me I asked for 5 weeks and I also told you to apply the payment to only one agreement.

They didnt even touch the stove which has the same initial damage and works perfectly. But they declared that damaged beyond repair as well Now I received a registered letter stating I have to pay them or go to jail?

I didnt damage the stuff, it was rented to me that way. It was not infested. and is sitting in my kitchen taking up room.

Youre refusing to pick it up based on a few cockroaches? This is embarrassing enough to have 1 or two but to tell me I owe you for used damage stuff that was quoted as one price and then added to, then applying my payments to both agreements rather than picking up the rentals, now threatening me with jail because youy split the payments and refuse to pick up!

I want this stove and fridge out of my home and I refuse to make payments going over a month and a half for the time I begged you to pick it up!

Threaten me with jail? Your business practices are questionable.

When I call the store they both appliances are damaged beyond repair? What? They work perfectly fine except for all the dings and bangs they had and the broken hinge on the right door which was there when you sold it to me!
