 IGS energy is absolutely a scam of a company! A representative came to my home on behalf of this company. He told me he needed to see my electric bill or gas bill and he would wait while I found it. I told him I was Not interested in their services or in having my supplier switched. He assured me he was not going to switch my services but that he was sent to " check on" a problem with my bill. I am usually smarter than this but I showed him my bills. He said there was a mistake made and by the company and he was "clear now" on why he was sent out to my home He then proceeded to have me sign paperwork and he called the third party verification company for me. He instructed me to say that he had left my home when they asked even though he was still here. I became very uneasy at this point and repeated that I did NOT want any changes made and he reassured me this was procedure to correct the "mistake". I became very concerned when he left and called my utility company within a few days. They verified he did indeed switch my supplier and I instructed them to cancel it immediately! I started to receive notices from IGS a few months later stating I owed them $80! I didn't respond or pay them because I didn't have them as a supplier.

Now I received a letter from a collection agency 6 months after this fiasco stating I had been reported to them by IGS for not paying the $80 and they could offer me a settlement to clear up the bill. I was livid IGS had the nerve to do this and refused to pay a cent until I called them. I spoke to a very rude lady from IGS who claims they have no record of my call and they were not notified for 2 months or so of the cancellation by my utility company so I therefore owe them the money. She then had the gall to say "If you had responded to the letters we sent you could have paid and not be involved in collections now"! I responded that if a unscrupulous solicitor representing her company had not switched my services, then we wouldn't be having the conversation. She then apologized for the salesman and responded that their reps are now trained in house by IGS. This doesn't help me in any way and she reiterated that I still owe the money. How many people do they do this to then hit them up for $80?? I am not done with IGS and am reporting them next to the Attorney General and will be checking to see if a solicitor permit was obtained to even be in my neighborhood. Do NOT let these salespeople into your home and do NOT show them your bills.....show them the sidewalk!!!!
