It's a scam ! I'm convinced of it. Now after reading Linda's report, it cannot be coincidence that I had the exact same experience with the Prizants at this same exact location.
I financed (through Citi Financial) 2 floors of carpeting in a duplex i have in Beechview. Over $4000 i paid for carpet and service which was promised to be "Second to none". Well it turned out to be the worst service experience of my life.
The carpet was installed sub-contractors who did extremely sloppy work. Half-way through the 2nd floor installation, the workers left for 2 weeks leaving exposed nails and tack strips along most of the base boards and thresholds between rooms. My girlfriend and i both cut our feet on these nails trying to manuver around at night and in the morning. I too tried to call and complain of the situation as it went on (embarassingly) over Thanksgiving 2004, and was told by manager "Well we certainly aren't coming out now to do it. We'll call when we can." Unbelievable! When they finally finished, every seam was visable, there were 1 inch gaps along the walls, carpet ends were unsecured and could be flipped up when you ran a foot over them. and nail heads were poking through the carpet in the middle of the hallway. Plus every 2 times i vaccume, i have to change the bag because the carpet is so cheap it comes apart.
I called Citi to dispute payment, and they told me that as long as i "had the carpet in my house" that i had to pay. And how my credit will be ruined if i dont. I also called the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General. I am currently appealing the local magistrate Charles McGlaughlin's decision to downtown. I don't know what more i can do except make it as public as possible how terrible these people at Prizants are and how they trap you into paying for deplorable work and service. My carpet looks terrible! And i owe THOUSANDS for it! If anyone else has had this similar experience, contact me and we'll take it to any newspaper or station we can. Pin flyers up and down the street! Picket if we have to! We shouldn't have to submit to unfair lawyers and magistrates. I know i was cheated.

the only people i can find all WORK WITH Prizants and anyone else is in another state. I have my case coming up on the 16th of December. Can you help me?

I'm so happy to hear that you won! It gives me some hope that maybe i can get some justice in this whole mess. I however dont think i can afford a lawyer and am not sure if the attorney costs would be more than i'm asking anyway. I cant seem to find a decent certified inspector who's not affiliated with that f.i.c.t.i.s....or whoever is it is that's associated with Prizants. How much did you pay for that inspection? Did prizants offer to come and fix the carpet initially? What court did you say i can look up your case? i'm sorry to be picking your brain here, but i'm just very anxious about this whole thing and will probably be going to court against their attorney alone! I'd like to have some evidence that they've done this to other people too. I would be grateful for your response.

Sorry to here about your experience with prizants. Some advise, Don't stop, Fight it all the way. If your right and you know it don't quit. As for me, I won. I am a fightcat. I got me a really good lawyer. I had all the proof. Get your own flooring inspector, do a background check on their inspector. Look at their records on the courts website. You can find me there
